Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Cap shell- to fan-shaped, stem absent, Ø 2-12 mm, hairy-fibrous in the black-brown centre, grey-brown, with whitish, mealy marginal zone.
Gills pale grey or dark grey to black, with white edge. Flesh greyish. Taste mild to bitter. Smell none.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Fairly common on dead wood debris, branches and twigs, occasionally on woody parts of perennial herbs, in woods and shrubberies.
Saprophyte.
