Short Stemmed Tricholoma
Description
Cap flattened expanded, Ø 8-11 cm, smooth, matt, grey-brown or beige-brown to ochre-brown.
Stem 3-5 cm x 10-15 mm, yellowish fibrous, creamy beige, with swollen base. Flesh white to cream. Smell faint, mushroomy.
Edible.
Occurrence
Not uncommon on rich soil in deciduous woods (Poplar) and coniferous woods (Spruce, Fir), wooded banks, avenues, roadsides, along shell paths and also on slag heaps. Spring to autumn.
Saprophyte.
