Fused Marasmius
Description
Cap vaulted to broadly bell-shaped expanding with a blunt bump, Ø 2-3 cm, smooth to faintly wrinkled, matt, fine velvety, beige brown to yellow brown, with a darker centre and a lighter rim.
Gills attached to almost free, whitish to cream, with a finely flaked brown lamella edge.
Stem 5-6 cm x 2-4 mm, smooth, shiny, darker red brown to black brown with a whitish top and with pale yellowish mycelium felt at the base. Flesh whitish. Taste mild. Smell absent.
Occurrence
On decaying leaves of deciduous trees (Oak, Beech, Hornbeam, Ash) in humus-rich deciduous forests on calcareous sand, loam or loess.
