Elm Oyster Mushroom
Description
Cap hemispherical, then convex, Ø 8-15 cm, smooth, matt, cream to brown with grey tinge, with reflexed margin.
Gills white to creamy yellow.
Stem 8-15 x 1-3 cm, striped-grooved, pale cream. Flesh tough, white. Smell somewhat sour.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Often high up on the trunk of living recently dead elms or on stumps in parks and along roads. Usually tufted.
Parasitic. (Saprophyte).

Rare (Red Data List, ed. 1)
