Sweet-scented Wax Cap
Description
Cap hemispherical to expanded, Ø 4-8 cm, slimy when damp; sticky when dry, smooth, beige-grey to brown-grey.
Gills broad, whitish to cream or greyish.
Stem 5-8 x 1-2 cm, dry, clayey-floccose, white, brownish in places. Flesh whitish to pale olive-grey.
Occurrence
Near Spruce and Fir in coniferous woods on calcareous, loamy soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
