Ivory Wax Cap

Description
Cap hemispherical to flattened, Ø 3-9 cm, strongly slimy sticky to greasy, smooth, ivory-white, occasionally with pale yellow centre.
Gills broad, white to light cream.
Stem 4-12 cm x 5-13 mm, slimy sticky when damp, white, clayey, yellowish at the apex. Flesh white. Smell faint.
Occurrence
Near Beech and Quercus robur in old avenues and woods on clayey and sandy soil thinly covered with litter.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
