Description
Cap hemispherical to convex, Ø 1-2.5 cm, dry, finely scaly, scarlet to orange-red, occasionally with yellow margin.
Gills broad, orange-red.
Stem 2-4.5 cm x 2-5 mm, smooth, dry, matt, red to orange-red, with light orange-yellow to whitish base. Flesh yellow to orange. Smell faint.
Occurrence
Common on humus-rich soil or litter in cropped grass in pastures, acid grasslands with very poor soil and grassy areas on heaths, occasionally in peat bogs or deciduous and mixed woods on sandy or peaty soil. Also Mycena galopus var. galopus.
