Description
Cap hemispherical to convex, Ø 2-5 cm, shiny when damp; matt when dry, blood-red to cherry-red, paling ochrous yellow later.
Gills broad, red-orange to yellow-orange.
Stem 4-6 cm x 5-8 mm, fibrous, cherry-red to orange-red. Flesh watery red to orange. Smell none.

Occurrence
In old, poor mossy grasslands, occasionally on roadsides or old lawns in churchyards.
Saprophyte.
