Cystoderma terrei

Description
Cap hemispherical, later wavy expanded, Ø 3-6 cm, granular-wart-like, orange brown to red (brown), turning red after rubbing, with a long upcurved, inclining rim.
Gills white to cream with a wavy rim.
Stem 3-5 cm x 6-10 mm, smooth, light orange, below and above the ring zone covered with whitish filaments and below the ring zone with dark orange scales. Flesh whitish cream to greyish yellow. Smell fungous.

Occurrence
On the ground in coniferous, deciduous and mixed forests and poor roadsides of lanes on humus-rich, sandy or loamy soils and on slag-heaps.
Saprophyte.
