Description
Cap irregularly convex to plane, Ø 4-10 cm, matt, white to creamy white, staining red-brown when damaged or with age, with splitting margin.
Gills close, white to cream, staining rusty brown.
Stem 5-10 cm x 8-25 mm, white, with tapering base, slightly rooting. Flesh white. Smell unpleasant.
Suspect.

Occurrence
Common on litter and humus of deciduous trees (Oak, Beech) and coniferous trees. Often in fairy rings.
Saprophyte.
