Trumpet Funnel Cap
Description
Cap plane with depressed centre and with umbo, Ø 10-25 cm, felted, whitish to pale cream, with incurved margin.
Gills broad, deeply decurrent, creamy beige.
Stem 6-15 x 2-3 cm, finely felted striped or smooth, whitish to cream, with white felted base. Flesh white. Smell faint, sweet.
Edible.
Occurrence
Among leaves on rich loam or clay. Often in groups or fairy rings.
Saprophyte.
