Aniseed Toadstool

Description
Cap irregularly flattened, Ø 3-7 cm, matt, green-blue (var. odora) to grey-ochre with a blue-green tinge.
Gills broad, adnate to slightly decurrent, cream to grey-green.
Stem 3-4 cm x 3-6 mm, smooth, whitish to blue-greenish, with white-felted base. Flesh white to pale green. Smell strong, of aniseed.
Edible.
Occurrence
Fairly common among leaves on moderately rich sand or loam.
Saprophyte.
