Dung Smooth Head
Description
Cap hemispherical to bell-shaped, Ø 10-25 mm, sticky, shiny, yellowish brown to pale reddish brown.
Gills close, whitish grey to lilac-brown.
Stem 2-4 cm x 1-2 mm, white-floccose, pale brown, white pruinose at the apex. Flesh pale brown. Taste mild. Smell faint, pleasant.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Not uncommon on horse and sheep dung and rabbit and hare droppings in poor to moderately rich grasslands and heaths. Summer to autumn.
