Swamp Sulphur Cap
Description
Cap convex to flattened, Ø 1-2 cm, matt when dry, lubricous when damp, striped, pale orange-brown, with acute, pale yellow to green-yellow margin.
Gills whitish or grey-beige to violet-brown.
Stem 3-6 cm x 1 mm, elastic, hollow, matt, longitudinally whitish-fibrous, light yellow at the apex and orange-brown at the base. Flesh pale yellow to orange-yellow. Taste mild. Smell musty.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Fairly common among sphagnum and other mosses or on coarse litter on peat moors, along pools and in wet heaths and poor grasslands. Summer to autumn.
