Smoky-gilled Wood-lover
Description
Cap convex with umbo, Ø 2-6 cm, pale ochre with yellow-brown centre, with light yellow marginal zone.
Gills cream to grey-lilac or olive-black.
Stem 4-7 cm x 3-9 mm, ochre-brownish yellow, with whitish cortinal zone and dark brown base. Flesh yellowish. Taste faintly sweet. Smell faint.
Edible.
Occurrence
Common on dead wood of coniferous trees. Summer to autumn.
