Description
Cap convex to expanded with umbo, Ø 3-8 cm, smooth, cinnamon to orange-brown, drying bicoloured, with a pale centre and a striped margin.
Gills pale to cinnamon.
Stem 3-8 cm x 5-9 mm, smooth, yellowish at the apex and with whitish scales on a dark background below the membranous, brown ring, black-brown at the base. Flesh white brownish.
Edible.

Occurrence
Common on stumps of deciduous trees (Oak, Alder, Birch, Willow). Tufted. Summer to autumn.
