Pholiota oedipus

Description
Cap hemispherical to slightly convex or plane, Ø 1-4 cm, slimy, brown or light grey-yellowish with olive-green tinge to light brown or pale ochre, with striped margin when damp.
Gills distant, whitish cream to loam-brown, with ciliate, white edge.
Stem 2-6 cm x 2-6 mm, white, with fibrous-floccose ring zone and white-felted base. Flesh pale creamy ochre. Taste mild. Smell faint, flour-like.

Occurrence
Not uncommon on wood debris and branches (Poplar). Autumn to winter.
Saprophyte.
