Description
Cap convex to expanded, Ø 3-10 cm, sticky, bright yellow or golden yellow to orange-brown, with brown, fibrous spots or scales.
Gills close, light yellow to yellow-brown.
Stem 4-8 cm x 5-14 mm, smooth, yellow at the apex, below the membranous ring yellow with brown scales. Flesh yellow. Taste bitter.
Occurrence
On buried Willow branches (at the flood mark) and on mossy driftwood in damp spots along river banks.
Saprophyte.
