Description
Cap hemispherical to expanding, Ø 3-6 cm, radially fibrous, somewhat sticky when young, pale grey brown to sepia brown with a darker grey brown, with somewhat higher centre.
Gills light cream to pale flesh-coloured pink.
Stem 3-9 cm x 3-7 mm, mealy-fluffy, white to pale dull yellow with a watery grey brown longitudinal striped and a pink yellowish shade, with a 1-3-lobbed, light to darker grey brown sac-like volva around the thickened stem base. Flesh cream white. Smell unpleasant strong, fungous.

Occurrence
In hot summers on decomposing compost, straw, and wood cuttings on bushes and in public gardens. Also cultivated and possible escaped.
Saprophyte.
