Lentinus cyathiformis

Description
Cap convex with deepened centre to funnel-shaped, Ø 5-10 cm, ochre-brown with red-brown scales.
Gills decurrent, young vein-like, then gill-like, white to cream, with serrulated edge.
Stem 3-6 x 1 cm, ochre-brown, with brown scales. Flesh whitish.
Taste mild.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
On trunks of broad-leaved trees, also on worked wood, in dune-scrubs and parks.
Saprophyte.
