Description
Cap convex to irregularly expanded with umbo, Ø 3-11 cm, matt, silvery fibrous, whitish to pale grey-brown, with scored or torn margin.
Gills whitish cream to grey pink.
Stem 4-10 x 1-2 cm, fibrous-striped, whitish to light grey. Flesh whitish grey. Smell strongly flour-like.

Occurrence
Near Elm on damp, heavy clay. Often remaining half buried. Usually in groups. Winter to spring.
Saprophyte. (Forming ectomycorrhiza?)
