Description
Cap convex to plane with umbo, Ø 3-10 cm, grey-brown, often with yellowish tinge and dark spots or radial striae.
Gills pale grey to pink.
Stem 3-5 cm x 8-15 mm, with white longitudinal fibrils, white with grey-brown tinge. Flesh white.
Edible.
Occurrence
Not uncommon near Hawthorn, Blackthorn and fruit trees in woods, parks, hedges and shrubberies. Spring to early summer (19A.jpg).
Forming ectomycorrhiza. Parasitic?
