Description
Cap vaulted to flattened, Ø 2-4 cm, especially in the centre covered with rough fibrous upturned scales, cinnamon brown to darker brown.
Gills cinnamon brown.
Stem 4-7 cm x 5-7 mm, woolly-fibrous, brown. Flesh white. Smell faint.

Occurrence
Near deciduous and coniferous trees in forests on acid, damp to dry, humus-rich (or deficient) sand.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
