Description
Cap bell-shaped to convex with umbo, Ø 3-4 cm, red-brown, scaly-fibrous, with scaly red-brown centre.
Gills red-brown.
Stem 3-5 cm x 4-6 mm, white, brown towards the base, with white, rimmed bulb-shaped base. Flesh pale. Smell faint.

Occurrence
Near Willow (Salix repens) occasionally near Poplar, on damp, calcareous sand.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
