Description
Cap hemispherical to convex, Ø 4-8 cm, sticky, pale beige-brown with dark brown centre and whitish margin.
Gills beige-brown.
Stem 4-5 cm x 5-7 mm, tough, with whitish zones on a yellowish background. Flesh pale, turning brown. Smell faint, unpleasant.
Occurrence
On bonfire sites, scorched wood debris and animal droppings in deciduous and coniferous woods, public gardens, shrubberies, avenues and grasslands.
Saprophyte. Forming ectomycorrhiza.
