Rooting Hebeloma
Description
Cap convex, Ø 6-9 cm, sticky, cream to pale yellowish brown.
Gills pale to dark loam-coloured.
Stem 5-8 cm x 10-15 mm, white at the apex, below the ring with fibrous, brown scales, the base with a long taproot. Flesh white. Taste sweet. Smell of almonds.
Suspect.
Occurrence
In deciduous woods on rich clay or loam, often rooting in mouse holes, mole holes, or wasps' nests.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
