Description
Cap hemispherical to flattened convex, Ø 2-5 cm, sticky, yellow-brown with reddish brown centre, with white velar remnants at the margin when young.
Gills loam-coloured.
Stem 4-7 cm x 4 mm, whitish at the apex, below the evanescent ring zone with fibrous on a dark background. Flesh white to brownish. Taste bitter. Smell of radish.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Common near deciduous trees (Birch, Oak, Beech) and coniferous trees (Pine, Norway spruce), often near young trees, in deciduous woods, avenues (Lime, Hazel) and shrubberies (Creeping willow, Salix repens). Often in groups.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
