Description
Cap vaulted to expanded with a somewhat depressed centre, Ø 1-2 cm, grainy to fine velutinous, matt, reddish to orange brown, with a lighter sharp, longish upturned rim.
Gills widely attached, vivid yellow with a light yellow, lashed lamella edge.
Stem 1-2 cm x 2-3 mm, with a whitish to yellowish frosted top, in the length white fibrous striped on a light grey brown background and with an acute, lasting in the soil, base. Flesh white yellow to light red-yellow. Taste bitter. Smell unpleasantly sour.
Occurrence
Often in bunches or groups on soil and on wood on fire damaged areas in softwood forests and on bogs.
