Cortinarius privignus

Description
Cap vaulted to expanding, Ø 3-6 cm, smooth, matt, light hazelnut- to ochre brown, in juvenile stage covered with a volatile white veil and the sharp curved rim connected to the stem with a whitish fibrous cortina.
Gills light cream brown to rusty brown, with a weakly notched, locally whitish lamella cutting.
Stem 3-6 cm x 8-15 mm, whitish, sometimes with a lilac bloom, covered with a white veil, often with a weak circle zone and with an onion- to tuberous thickened base. Flesh whitish. Smell weak, spicy.
Spore-print colour rusty brown.
Suspicious.

Occurrence
Near deciduous trees in deciduous forests and shrubberies.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
