Description
Cap conical to expanding with an acute umbo, Ø 1.5-3 cm, dark lilac-brown when damp, ochre-brown when dry, covered with fine fibrous whitish flakes and a striped rim.
Gills grey-violet or brown-violet.
Stem 3-6 cm x 3-5 mm, with a violet to lilac top, the rest dark violet to red-brown, with whitish scales in tussles or girdles under the whitish circular zone and a by the mycelium bluish coloured base. Flesh dark brown to ochre brown. Smell strongly Pelargonium-like.
Spore-print colour rusty brown.
Suspicious.
Occurrence
Near deciduous trees in deciduous forests and mixed forests, shrubberies, parks and lanes on dry to damp, moderately nutrient-deficient to nutrient-rich sand, loam or clay.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
