Description
Cap convex to expanded with umbo, Ø 6-8 cm, finely fibrous, matt, ochre to olive-yellow-brown.
Gills close, blood red to dark red.
Stem 7-8 cm x 6-7 mm, ochre to golden ochre. Flesh ochre. Taste bitter. Smell faint.
Spore-print colour rusty brown.
Poisonous.

Occurrence
Near (young) coniferous trees on poor soil deficient in humus.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
