Psathyrella prona f. prona
Description
Cap conical to bell-shaped, Ø 1-2 cm, dark grey-brown when damp; matt, ochrous yellow-brown to greyish brown, striped when dry, with faintly scored margin, overhung with velar remnants when young.
Gills whitish to dark purple-brown, with red edge.
Stem 3-7 cm x 2-3 mm, white-fibrous, white to cream, with light brown, swollen bulb-shaped base. Flesh whitish grey-brown. Taste mild. Smell faint, unpleasant.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Common on the ground and on wood chips in deciduous woods, parks, gardens, roadsides, tangled growth and grasslands on rich clay and humus-rich sand. Summer to autumn.
