Description
Cap ovoid or conical to expanded, Ø 4-8 cm, 4-6 cm high, shiny radially wrinkled-striped, date-brown to dark brown, covered in concentric zones with fibrillose, whitish scales becoming pale brown, wrinkled-striped at the margin. Gills white or grey-pink to black.
Stem 12-15 cm x 10-15 mm, white-fibrillose, white, bulbous base with belt-like zones. Flesh watery grey-brown. Taste unpleasant. Smell of phenol.
Suspicious.

Occurrence
On humus-rich soil in old broad-leaved woods and avenues on fertile clay or loamy soil. Summer to autumn.
