Yellow Cow Pat Toadstool
Description
Cap conical to campanulate, then flattened expanded, with deeply grooved margin, Ø 1-4 cm, viscid, translucent, chrome-yellow or egg-yellow, paling to grey-brown.
Gills close, pale yellow to cinnamon-brown.
Stem 3-8 cm x 2-4 mm, hollow, fragile, finely pruinose, whitish yellow, white-downy at the base. Flesh thin, pale.
Spores rusty brown.
Occurrence
On humus-rich soil, droppings, manure and compost heaps and rotting grass in gardens, roadsides, grasslands and the edges of woods on rich soil or manured areas. Summer to autumn.
Saprophyte.
