Pale Field Cap
Description
Cap convex to plane, Ø 3-7 cm, matt, cracking, ivory to creamy yellowish, with velar remnants at the margin.
Gills adnate, pale brown to grey-brown.
Stem 5-8 cm x 3-7 mm, whitish to pale yellowish, with floccose ring. Flesh whitish. Smell mushroomy. Taste faint, bitter.
Edible.
Occurrence
On litter or wood chips or in grassy roadsides in city parks, public gardens, broad-leaved woods and grasslands on rich, often slightly disturbed soil. Spring to summer.
