Slimy Veil Limacella
Description
Cap campanulate at first, then convex to flattened, Ø 3-6 cm, shiny, slimy viscid, matt when dry, red-brown to orange brown. Gills wide, whitish to light yellow or cream.
Stem 4-6 cm x 7-12 mm, smooth, whitish with pink tinge, woolly floccose below the evanescent woolly white ring. Flesh whitish. Smell flour-like.
Occurrence
In broad-leaved woods on calcareous loam and clay.
Saprophyte.
