Description
Cap campanulate, then expanded with umbo, Ø 2-5 cm, smooth centre, red-brown, with red-brown scales on a white to cream background, with floccose margin. Gills white.
Stem 2-4 cm x 3-4 mm, whitish with dingy pink tinge, with evanescent, yellowish white ring. Flesh white. Smell disagreeably pungent.
Suspicious.

Occurrence
On humus-rich soil in broad-leaved and coniferous woods, urban parks and avenues. Summer to autumn.
