Description
Cap campanulate, then expanded, Ø 1-4 cm, matt, finely granular-mealy, light violet, later cream to light ochre. Gills quite distant, creamy white to yellowish.
Stem 4-8 cm x 2-4 mm, pruinose, lilac-violet, whitish to cream at the apex. Flesh whitish to creamy yellow. Smell highly unpleasant, slightly gas-like.
Occurrence
On soil very rich in humus, occasionally somewhat muddy soil in woods on chalk slopes and woods on river clay.
Saprophyte.
