Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body closed spherical, Ø 1-2 mm. Outer surface whitish to ochrous yellowish, splitting into 5 to 9 golden yellow or orange-yellow rays, revealing a brown-black ball 1 mm in diameter. After the ball has been projected, the reversed membrane becomes a glassy white sphere at the centre of the Fruit-body.
Occurrence
On damp, decayed wood of broad-leaved and coniferous trees, occasionally on manure and plant debris.
Saprophyte.
