Giant Puffball
Description
Fruit-body irregularly to regularly globose, Ø 10-80 cm. Outer surface leathery, wrinkled or smooth, matt, white, with mycelium strands at the base. Flesh white, when ripe sulphur-yellow to olive-brown. Edible.
Occurrence
On rich (sandy) clayey and peaty soil in highly manured pastures, in orchards, roadsides and parks, also in broad-leaved woods and shrubberies, often on recently disturbed ground or dried mud.
