Description
Fruit-body closed dome- to onion-shaped, with 6-10 rays reflexed downwards, Ø 2-4 cm. Lower surface fibrillose, brownish cream, with attached soil. Inner surface white or light cream to light brown. Sphere Ø 6-18 mm, stem absent, with conical, ciliate opening, smooth, white to light brown-grey or grey-brown.

Occurrence
On sandy or loamy soils or clayey soils in coniferous woods (Spruce and Fir), occasionally in broad-leaved woods, (dune) shrub, parks and avenues.
Saprophyte.
