Stereum gausapatum

Description
Fruit-body leathery crust-like, with margins slightly upturned, Ø 1-4 cm. Upper surface of the brackets finely hairy, zoned, greyish ochre-brown, whitish margin. Lower surface smooth, pale to dark yellow-brown or chestnut, bleeding red when damaged.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Common on trunks and stumps of deciduous trees, favouring Oak.
