Steccherinum bourdotii

Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body crust-like with brackets on the upper margin, 3-6 x 1-2 cm. Upper surface of the brackets, which protrude up to 1 cm, hairy, cream to greyish. Lower surface densely spiny, creamy beige. Spines 2-3 mm.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Fairly common on wood of deciduous trees (Alder).
Saprophyte.
