Crimped Gill
Description
Fruit-body pleated to undulate shell- or fan-shaped, with lateral stem, Ø 1-2 cm. Upper surface felted, concentrically zoned, whitish to ochre-brown or red-brown. Lower surface with gill-like ridges; ridges undulate-forked, interconnected, dingy white to grey-ochre, with scored, rolled in margin.
Spore-print colour white.
Occurrence
On trunks and branches of Birch, Beech and Hazel.
Saprophyte.
