Entire Brittle Gill
Description
Cap convex to vaulted or flat, Ø 4-8 cm, sticky when moist, bright ochre-brown with a lighter, radially furrowed rim.
Gills narrowly attached, close to each other, cream with brown patches, bleeding.
Stem 7-9 x 1.5-2.5 cm, whitish to yellowish, bleeding at the top. Flesh white. Taste mild to very sharp (gills). Smell after Almonds.
Spore-print colour cream.
Occurrence
Near deciduous trees (Oak, Beech) in lanes and forests on sand, loam and clay.
Froming ectomycorrhiza.
