Lilac Milk-cap
Description
Cap convex to depressed funnel-shaped, Ø 5-7 cm, matt, pink-violet to flesh, with incurved margin when young.
Gills forked, flesh to ochre.
Stem 5-6 x 1 cm, pruinose, flesh-ochre. Flesh whitish pink to pale ochre, milk whitish. Taste mild. Smell of chicory when dried.
Spore-print colour white.
Edible.
Occurrence
Near Alder on rich soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
