Booted Tricholome
Description
Cap expanded to plane with umbo, Ø 10-12 cm, copper-like brown with olive or brick-red tinge, with incurved margin.
Gills cream with red-brown edge and blotches.
Stem 10-12 x 2-3 cm, pruinose, whitish cream at the apex, below the membranous, woolly, protruding ring copper-like, brown, scaly, zoned, on a whitish cream background, with tapering, curved base.
Occurrence
Near Scots pine in young or old coniferous woods on poor soil deficient in humus.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
