Description
Cap hemispherical, then irregularly expanded, Ø 4-7 cm, dark grey to brown-grey with fine scales on a lighter background, pale at the margin.
Gills white, staining yellow.
Stem 4-8 cm x 6-12 mm, white with grey-brown tinge. Flesh white. Smell flour-like.
Edible.

Occurrence
Fairly common near deciduous trees (Oak, Beech, Poplar) and coniferous trees in avenues and woods.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
