Description
Cap convex to plane, Ø 2-10 cm, smooth, slimy, yellow with orange-brown to red-brown centre.
Gills pale yellow.
Stem 3-5 cm x 3-4 mm, tough, velvety, dark brown, yellow at the apex. Flesh yellowish. Smell pleasant.
Spore-print colour white.
Edible.

Occurrence
Common on stumps, trunks, fallen branches of deciduous trees (Alder, Ash, Poplar, Elder) in rich soils. September to March.
Saprophyte. (Parasitic?)
