Psilocybe aurantiaca

Description
Cap convex, Ø 2-7 cm, orange-red with yellowish or dark red blotches, often with white velar remnants at the margin.
Gills cream to olive-brown.
Stem 2-8 cm x 4-10 mm, ochre to orange-red, pale at the apex and rudimentary ring. Flesh cream to yellowish orange. Taste mild. Smell faint.

Occurrence
Not uncommon on wood debris, especially wood chips, in woods, parks and public gardens. Summer to autumn.
Saprophyte.
